Derek Tersmette has been working at Pels Rijcken since 2016. He works mainly in the field of public and private health care.Derek studied Law (cum laude) and Medicine (cum laude) in Leiden. From 2009 to 2011 he was deputy secretary for the Medical Ethics Committee of Leiden University Medical Center. In 2012, he completed the master's degree in Law. From 2013 to 2015, he did internships at hospitals in Leiden, The Hague and Rotterdam. During that period he also worked for some time as a student intern at the administrative law section of Pels Rijcken. To gain more experience within health care, Derek then spent a year working as a doctor in the emergency room in The Hague. Inspired by the intensive cooperation with colleagues and clients, as well as the creative and project-oriented way of working within the legal profession, Derek started working at Pels Rijcken.
