American victims of a major data breach at T-Mobile may receive payment in April. The compensation could be up to $25,000. The company has reached a settlement totaling $350 million.

The data breach occurred in 2021. Personal data of 79 million U.S. customers was then misappropriated and offered for sale on the Internet. It included names, dates of birth, social security numbers and driver's license information, phone numbers and IMEI and IMSI information.
Duped customers started dozens of mass claims against the telecom company. They feel that T-Mobile did not protect their data properly, putting them at significant risk of, for example, identity fraud.
In 2022, T-Mobile decided to settle the mass claims. New York-based Kroll Settlement Administration, the party handling the settlement, recently informed that aggrieved customers who applied for compensation will receive payment.
