Consumers who have been victims of cybercrime, such as help desk fraud, phishing or hacks, can now contact the Consumers Union's Cyber Helpline.

Through the Cyber Helpline, experts provide advice by phone and watch remotely with the aggrieved consumer. They investigate the cause, try to limit the damage and help solve problems. Sandra Molenaar, Director Consumer Association: 'We see an increase in the number of reports of people who are victims of cybercrime. Consumers faced with this are often panicked and don't know what to do or who to turn to for help. That's why we started the Cyber Helpline.'
The Cyber Helpline also provides advice on WhatsApp fraud and helps get hacked Instagram and email accounts back. Consumers can also contact it if they are unsure whether or not they have been hacked. The first 5 minutes are free, after that the caller pays €1.20 per minute (€1.49 for non-members).
The Cyber Helpline works with Cyberwacht, an initiative of Sparklab B.V.
