EU introduces DNS service with built-in adblocker and internet filter
The European Union has provided its own DNS service: DNS4EU. This allows, among other things, ad blocking by default and website filtering.

DNS4EU has five options. Based on these, users can determine what they will or will not see. The first is an unfiltered option. The other options allow blockers for rogue and fraudulent Web sites, Web sites unsuitable for children, and advertisements, respectively. There is also an option that combines the filter for children with an adblocker.
Digital sovereignty
The DNS4EU wesite states that it is not possible to censor the Internet of European citizens. "That would go against the goal of the project, which aims to strengthen digital sovereignty." Users' IP addresses are completely anonymized before they are given full access to the DNS resolver. Private data is not kept anywhere. There is both a free DNS service for the public and a DNS4EU version for governments and telecom companies.
