In 2024, 22.7 percent of companies with 10 or more employees used one or more AI technologies. This was an increase of nearly 9 percentage points from 2023. From 2021 to 2023, AI technology use was relatively stable. This is according to CBS' AI Monitor 2024.
The AI technologies that companies used most often in 2024 were text mining (analyzing written text; 13.5 percent) and natural language generation (generating written or spoken text: 12.3 percent), according to the AI Monitor. Compared to a year earlier, companies were 2.5 times more likely to use text mining. Natural language generation was even used three times more often in 2024 than a year earlier. The use of speech recognition increased from 3.7 percent in 2023 to 6.5 percent in 2024.
