Today, the Court of Appeal in 's-Hertogenbosch took another step toward digital working in criminal cases with the rollout of a new module. From now on, files can not only be received digitally, but also provided and managed digitally. Lawyers will receive criminal case files in appeal proceedings digitally via Mijn Strafdossier (My Criminal Case File).

Initially, this digitization process will only be implemented in summary proceedings and police court cases. If this goes well, other types of criminal cases will be added step by step.
Lawyers receive the court of appeal file, as well as the district court file, digitally via Mijn Strafdossier (My Criminal File). At a later stage, there will also be a digital link with the Openbaar Ministerie the Supreme Court.
This new digital working method has been tested by the Court of Appeal in The Hague for a year. Around 70% of appeals in The Hague are now handled in this way. Other courts of appeal are also gradually starting to use this method. The Court of Appeal in Amsterdam started on September 16, and later this year the Court of Appeal in Arnhem-Leeuwarden will start using this new digital working method.
