The Government Wide Digitalization Consultation (OBDO) has decided to start the process of working up the Haven standard and the Haven+ reference implementation into a building block of the Generic Digital Infrastructure. Haven makes it easier for municipalities to switch between cloud infrastructures.
Port is a standard that ensures platform- and vendor-independent cloud provisioning. It therefore makes governments less dependent on suppliers and platforms, which strengthens the digital autonomy of governments and public organizations. Haven originated from a collaboration between municipalities and the VNG.
Now the process has begun to develop Haven within the Multiyear Digital Government Infrastructure Program (MIDO) and the Generic Digital Infrastructure (pGDI) program to scale it up to a GDI building block. The GDI consists of several building blocks and is the collection of agreements (systems), standards and facilities that all public service providers use for their digital services to citizens and entrepreneurs.
In the coming period, under the direction of MIDO and pGDI, work will be carried out together with the government and the market on the further development of Haven and the broad rollout of Haven among the member organizations of MIDO. At the same time, the MIDO process will be completed to arrive at established GDI building blocks that will ultimately also be declared a standard by the Standardization Forum.
