Data initiatives stall or slow down, while many opportunities for responsible data use go untapped. Recognizable? Register your use case for the pilot "advisory function data use," and get help from the Intergovernmental Data Strategy.

Data projects often founder or slow down for the following reasons:
unclear or conflicting frameworks;
lack of direction and ownership;
technologically too complicated.
Good news: the Intergovernmental Data Strategy is launching an 'advisory pilot' for data projects that address social issues. Selected projects will receive support from experts of Pels Rijcken and Verdonck, Klooster & Associates. The consultants help create a breakthrough. But they may also conclude that something is not allowed or not desirable. In other words, the consultants help you make an integral assessment:
What is technically possible?
What is legally allowed?
And what is ethically desirable?
The intention is that use cases together produce a number of common threads; what are the parties up against? These threads will be shared and used as input for policy, to make frameworks clearer or to develop guidelines. This should ultimately enable organizations to make these considerations better themselves.
Which projects can apply?
Your project involves a data-related problem
The case/question is concrete and can be answered with a recommendation
The issue is inter-governmental (e.g., use of data from other governments)
Your team/organization is prepared to provide consultants with all relevant information and appoint a contact person.
Inter-governmental administrative issues are a plus.
In 2022, the consultants are going to help 6 to 10 use cases. The first 2 cases have already been selected. Interested in participating or need some more information? Then contact Christian Verhagen of VKA, christian.verhagen@vka.nl.
