The new Interprovincial Guide to Digital Ethics offers practical guidance on digital issues. This guide helps provinces make responsible choices in a digital world. How do you apply ethics in practice?
The guide was officially handed over last Monday during the Regiotour AI & Algorithms in Zwolle(link to other website).. Among those present were Marten Tilstra (Program Manager Digitalization at the Interprovinciaal Overleg, further IPO), Derk Jan Zweers (Policy Developer Provincie Overijssel) and Gert Harm ten Bolscher (Deputy Innovation & Digitalization Provincie Overijssel).
In this updated Interprovincial Guide to Digital Ethics, the Working Group on Ethics and Digital Transformation has compiled practical tools, applicable tips and concrete examples from provinces. Like the earlier version, the guide is a source of knowledge and inspiration. The focus is on practical applicability. The guide is intended for administrators and professionals who seize the opportunities of digital transformation and recognize the importance of values-driven digitization.
Technical and legal issues often take center stage in innovations. But what about the ethical side? Is the use of data or digital technology desirable and of added value? And can you justify this approach in the face of social issues? It is not only about what is allowed and possible, but also about what you want. These ethical questions are becoming increasingly important, especially for provinces that are digitizing and innovating rapidly.
