News press release

As of August 2, 2025, the new rules for AI models for general purpose in force. Among other things, providers of these models must prepare technical documentation, regularly investigate vulnerabilities and ensure proper cybersecurity.

Tools for implementation AI regulation

The Algorithm Framework now offers even more practical tools to help apply these rules correctly. For example, the pages about the AI Regulation have their own heading and are now easier to find. Furthermore, the central government has developed tools to help you implement the AI Regulation. They are:

  • A guide to determining whether something is an AI system under the AI regulation;

  • A fact sheet on the AI regulation for drivers;

  • A fact sheet on AI literacy.

You can find these tools at the bottom of the "AI-act in brief" page on the Algorithm Framework site.

Also useful

In addition, it has become easier to export information from the Algorithm Framework to store on one's own disk:

  • Once you have gone through the decision aid, you can save your answers (including explanations) as a pdf. You can use this document for archiving, for justification or to hand over to directors, for example.

  • It is now possible to export the total views of requirements and measures to Excel or ODS. If you export to Excel, your filters are also included (with ODS this is not technically possible).

More on the EU AI regulation

The EU has a Code of Practice released to help developers of general purpose AI models (models behind the well-known AI chatbots). The Code provides tips and guidance around transparency, copyright and safety and security.
