Employers of boas with investigative duties (including municipalities) are required to conduct an annual internal audit. An éxternal audit is also required every four years. This is stated in the Police Data Act. The results of the external audit must send boa employers to the AP. After a one-year delay, the deadline for submitting Wpg audit reports is Dec. 31, 2022. But the AP sees that few reports are in yet, and stresses the importance of conducting, reporting and sending the audit on time.

Monique Verdier, AP vice president: "Employers, including municipalities, have now been responsible for monitoring the work of their boas for some time. The low number of Wpg audit reports delivered worries me."
Audits are an important tool for internal oversight within an organization. By conducting the audit properly and on time, you as an employer ensure that you are processing personal data correctly. With the postponement of the submission date to Dec. 31, 2022, the AP made it possible to draw up improvement plans and carry out any re-audits and improvement plans.
Therefore, to avoid time constraints and inaccurate or incomplete reports, the AP reiterates the obligation and the impending end date.
