Following the launch of the Digital Agenda Municipalities 2028, the VNG identifies 8 priorities for government-wide cooperation on digitization.
At the launch of the Digital Agenda Municipalities 2028 on September 4, the VNG welcomed State Secretary Szabó of Digitalization. In his speech, he called for intensified cooperation between all layers of government to accelerate the digitization of the House of Thorbecke. In response to his call, Peter Snijders, chairman of the VNG Information Society Committee and Roel Wever, chairman of the VNG College of Service Providers sent the state secretary the letter Joint prioritization House of Thorbecke (161kB).
Priorities
In the letter, they identify the following 8 priorities for that collaboration, from the perspective of local government:
Protection of public values and fundamental rights as a condition for digital technology: test first, apply later;
Common ground rules for responsible and transparent deployment of algorithms and AI;
Service to citizens and organizations that matches their expectations and skills;
Clear and sufficient agreements on digital security;
A federated data system within government, for data sharing and interoperability;
Move toward one consistent and understandable digital government that citizens can trust;
A digitally independent government, thanks to a healthy balance between market and government;
The government-wide implementation of laws and regulations from Europe.
