Every year on Budget Day, the cabinet presents its plans for the upcoming year. What are the main focal points of this outgoing administration in the area of digitization?
To address major societal challenges, the government is committed to accelerating digitization, in cooperation with fellow governments, public service providers and departments. Their priorities have been elaborated in the Dutch Digitalization Strategy (NDS).. Digitalization efforts are focused on Cloud, Data, AI, Citizens and Entrepreneurs, Digital Resilience and Autonomy, and Digital Craftsmanship.

King Willem-Alexander briefly addressed the role of AI and the importance of cybersecurity in the Throne Speech. "How do we exploit the opportunities that the rapid rise of artificial intelligence offers us, and at the same time how do we mitigate the risks? How to deal with increasing digital threats? (...) These are big questions, to which there are no quick and easy answers, but which the government and States General need to consider."
