NBA March 7, 2018

The NBA has developed a privacy toolkit for accounting firms. This toolkit supports smaller SME firms in particular in preparing for the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). Of course, the toolkit can also be used by other accountants.

Practical tools and tips
As of May 25, 2018, you must comply with the AVG. Organizations that process personal data will then have more obligations and must be able to demonstrate their compliance with the AVG. The toolkit provides practical tools and tips. This toolkit, which also contains models and examples, can be found on the private section of the NBA website.

The toolkit is based on the 10-step plan of the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP). This roadmap assumes that you already comply with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act (Wbp). With the introduction of the AVG, new rules will be added and existing rules will be tightened in some cases.

NBA brochure update
A new version of the NBA brochure "New privacy legislation in 2018" will also be published soon. This updated version includes that the accountant who performs a composition engagement is a processing controller and further clarifies several aspects of the AVG.
