The Chinese video app has been taken to court via a so-called mass claim. A claim of nearly 2 billion euros is on the table for violating children's rights. Take back your privacy is working closely with the Consumers Union on this.

In this episode, Van der Jagt and Berkhout explain how this particular mass claim came about and what's involved in starting a case against such a company. And why TikTok? Van der Jagt: "All children go on social media at some point. What is important to us is that children are safe online and that their privacy is respected and that their data is not just traded. Our concern is not only with TikTok, but with all parties offering these types of apps on the European market."
