The Rijksoverheid will investigate privacy risks in having Google process data. The data protection impact assessment (DPIA) started this spring. All ministries and related organizations that use Google will conduct this study. AG Connect recently reported.

A DPIA identifies the privacy risks when processing data. Based on this assessment, measures can be taken to reduce the risks. Among other things, the way Google processes ministry data is examined. It also looks at whether personal data of officials who use Google are handled correctly. The Ministry of Justice and Security commissioned the study.
The new research is partly the result of consultations between the ministry and the world of education, where Google services are often used. "Schools have been digitized at breakneck speed, but you have to trust the parties who made this possible. These kinds of DPIAs are there to control the market," said an adviser to Kennisnet. The company the Hague Privacy Company will conduct the review of Google.
