As a municipality, do you want to start working (more) with algorithms? Then use the Fair Algorithms Starter Kit. You will receive tailored technical and managerial advice through this tool by completing questionnaires.

With the Starter Kit you will discover which laws can play a role in your data project. And what to look out for in that case. The Starter Kit also provides direction from a technical perspective. For example, there are questions about the process of algorithm development, implementation and use.
The Starter Kit lists all the questions and answers for your organization. Based on that input, you will receive targeted advice: a good starting point for a discussion within your organization about the (im)possibilities of using algorithms.
The Starter Kit was developed for the project Fair Algorithms (AI with impact(external reference)), along with an experimental dashboard(external reference) and a method to detect unfair algorithms (FairTrade method(external reference)). This project involved collaboration between CBS, Code for NL, Utrecht Data School (Utrecht University), TU Delft, the VNG and several municipalities. The tool is constantly being developed to stay in line with laws and regulations.
