Safe and easy access to child medical records

With the pilot 'Parental authority in healthcare', Logius' Machtigen program is investigating how parents can gain safe and easy access to their child's electronic health record. Currently, parents can only arrange matters for their minor children digitally by applying for their child's DigiD and logging in with it.

Solution for enabling

The Program is working on a solution where parents can use their own login tool to access their child(ren)'s patient record. How does this work? The healthcare provider is responsible for the medical record and will soon grant parents access. The parents can then log in with their own login medium at home at a time of their choosing. After logging in, a check takes place via the new functionality. If the logging in parents are authorized then they are granted access. This ensures at all times that medical records are logged in securely and by the right people.
