These are officials who, based on their job profile, pose an increased risk of digital espionage by state actors and cyber criminals. "Specifically, this group of officials consists of members of the General Administration and officials in positions of trust with a Statement of No Objection (VGB) B, A and A+ as issued by the AIVD and MIVD," Szabo explained.

Pre-approved apps

Only pre-approved apps can be installed on these managed devices. "The implementation is currently being done by the central government organizations that issue mobile devices to central government employees," the secretary of state said. "Only after a positive evaluation of this initial rollout Q1 2025 can we begin to determine if and when other groups of civil servants will have their turn, or whether we may need to curtail the group," a released memo reads.
