The knowledge portals of Berghauser Pont Media Group

PONT | Data & Privacy (formerly Data & Privacyweb) is a knowledge portal and discussion platform on the impact of digital transformation on our living environment, in particular how we interact with personal data. Technology influences the development of cities, the way we live and how we interact with our environment and fellow citizens. Digitization makes many new applications and support possible, take health care for example. But the enormous amount of knowledge and data about how we live and where our preferences lie also means that we will have to be more conscious about how and with whom we share our data. The GDPR (General data Protection Regulation) gives citizens the right to understand who is collecting data and what is being done with it.

PONT | Data & Privacy covers the entire field of data privacy and security in its entirety. You will find everything about privacy regulations, data protection, cybercrime, identification, data breaches, emerging technologies and all other issues that occur within the field of data and privacy. PONT | Data & Privacy offers you legal and practical professional information relevant to the performance of your daily work.

Editorial ambition

PONT | Data & Privacy aims to contribute to the exchange of knowledge and ideas on the impact of digital transformation on our society, in particular on how we handle personal data. The guiding principles for the editors are that quality is always decisive, that we collaborate with the best experts in the field, showcase as many perspectives as possible, and that we are both a platform for knowledge exchange and substantive discussion.

PONT | Data & Privacy focuses on the following editorial pillars: data & algorithms, finance & economics, work & HR, health, security, ICT & technology, youth & education and government.

Berghauser Pont Media Group (BPM).

BPM stands for professionals with a heart for public service. Whether it's developing your knowledge and skills, connecting with like-minded people or contributing to important social discussions.

The knowledge portals are the hub of the Berghauser Pont Media Group. This is the central place where professionals gain knowledge, ask questions and enter into discussion with each other. Every month, more than 150,000 professionals come here in search of information, inspiration and overview. Thus, we form an important bridge between knowledge and practice.

Other portals of BPM are:

PONT | Environment aims to contribute to the exchange of knowledge and ideas about a sustainable and livable society. The Netherlands is facing a major housing challenge; one million homes must be built by 2030. At the same time, cities are becoming increasingly crowded: more residents, more traffic and more tourism. But there is also shrinkage and vacancy in a number of regions. It is certain that our living environment will continue to be transformed in the coming years as a result of the reuse of waste and other materials in a circular economy, and through further technological development. Ultimately, the goal is to create a livable environment, both in the city and beyond, that takes into account all of its inhabitants.

PONT | Climate was launched on January 1, 2021 (then; Klimaatweb). With this knowledge portal, we aspire to contribute to the pursuit of a climate neutral society in 2050. With the still long way to go to not only capture greenhouse gases and reduce emissions, but also to change our consumption patterns and start a circular society and economy, we think it was high time that there was a place to put all the information on these important developments together. All aspects and sectors that play a role within this transition are covered; from climate change and renewable energy to mobility, circularity, consumption, industry, built environment and agriculture.

PONT | Care & Social aspires to contribute to the discussion around positive health care and an inclusive society. Starting points are a fair distribution of burdens, participation of as many people as possible in the labor market, including those with disabilities, and effective help for vulnerable groups, such as young people. In combination with an increasingly aging population, this calls for a radical adaptation of the way we live and reside. Ever-growing healthcare costs also call for an adaptation of our healthcare system in which ailments are prevented, or detected and remedied at an earlier stage. New technologies such as blockchain, robotization and machine learning can play an important role here.
