Privacy is a fundamental right and a fundamental building block of our democratic rule of law. It allows us to set our own limits on who we allow, at what time, into our lives. That fundamental right to privacy is under pressure. Governments and companies are collecting and reusing data on an unprecedented scale. Algorithms and artificial intelligence make it possible to profile us, make predictions about our behavior, measure that behavior in turn, and increase predictability. The Privacy First Foundation advocates a fundamental rethinking of our privacy and how we protect that secure personal space for ourselves. Through publications, lobbying, campaigns, media appearances and litigation, Privacy First strives for a free society where every person can make their own, autonomous, choices.
