Our reliance on digitization is accompanied by increasing threats in today's geopolitical landscape. TheNIS Directive (NIS1) has already ensured greater cyber security of EU member states, but the current context calls for a strengthened approach. To strengthen the digital resilience of organizations in the European Union, the European Union adopted the Network and Information Security Directive (NIS2 Directive) in late 2022 as a successor to NIS1. This directive focuses on risks that can threaten network and information systems used to deliver services.
