Risky algorithm use

The Inspectorate JenV has investigated the use of algorithms by the three probation organizations in the Netherlands (hereinafter: the probation service): Reclassering Nederland, the Salvation Army Youth Protection & Probation Service, and Stichting Verslavingsreclassering GGZ. One of the three main conclusions of the Inspectorate JenV is that it sees risks in the use of algorithms by the probation service that could lead to negative consequences for both society and individual suspects and convicted persons. Furthermore, the probation service does not use STATIC-99R, STABLE-2007, and ACUTE-2007 in a demonstrably responsible manner. Finally, their main conclusion is that the probation service does not use OXREC in a responsible manner.
