The court finds that these are very serious offenses and that a substantial prison sentence would actually be appropriate. The reasons for not imposing an unconditional prison sentence are the fact that they cooperated fully with the police investigation and limited the (digital) damage, their clean criminal records, and the fact that they have not committed any new criminal offenses in the past three years. In determining the severity of the sentence, the court also took into account that almost three years have passed since their arrest, during which time they did not know what was in store for them. For this reason, in addition to community service, the men were given a substantial suspended prison sentence. They must also pay compensation to various people.
