As a start-up business owner, you are probably going to process personal data. For example, names and e-mail addresses of your customers. You must then comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). This way you protect your customers' privacy, they keep trusting you and like coming back to you.

In 5 steps, get the basics right:

  1. Review what personal data you process and why.

  2. Determine whether you may use this data.

  3. Make an overview of all the data.

  4. Fix security.

  5. Handle properly privacy rights.

Go through the roadmap Then you will know what things you need to arrange. And what you must do if, for example, you are faced with a data breach. Or if customers ask to see the personal data you process about them.

Is your business running well and are you going to hire your first employee(s)? Then that is the time when you need to a number of additional AVG to arrange.
