Yes, you may. You can decide whether you allow someone else (for example your partner or an acquaintance) to pick up your medicines from the pharmacy. In the pharmacy, the staff member will have to ask whether the person picking up the medication (or other information, such as a medication list) really has your permission to do so.
This is because pharmacy employees are bound by confidentiality. This means that they are not allowed to give your medical information - such as which medications you are taking - to anyone else.
They must also be absolutely certain that they are not giving the drugs to the wrong person.
Does the employee have doubts about your identity? Then the employee may use your citizen service number (BSN).
The employee may also ask the person who picks up your medication to show his or her ID. But the employee may not process this person's BSN when doing so. Or make a copy of his or her ID.
