Can my bank use my BSN?

Personal Data Authority November 17, 2020

Question & Answer

ANSWER

Yes, you may. Organizations outside the government may use your citizen service number (BSN) if required by law.

Your bank, as a financial institution, is required by the General Act on State Taxes to provide information about your assets, interest received/paid, or current loans to the Internal Revenue Service, indicating your BSN.
