General conditions for members of the supervisory authority
Member States shall require that each member of their supervisory authorities be appointed in accordance with a transparent procedure by:
their parliament;
their government;
their head of state; or
an independent body entrusted by member state law with the appointment.
Each member has the necessary qualifications, experience and skills, especially in the field of personal data protection, to perform their duties and exercise their powers.
A member's duties end upon expiration of the term of office, resignation or compulsory retirement in accordance with the laws of the Member State in question.
A member shall be dismissed only if it has been seriously deficient or no longer meets the requirements for performance of duties.
