Representation of stakeholders
The data subject shall have the right to instruct a body, organization or not-for-profit association validly constituted according to the law of a Member State, whose statutory objectives are in the public interest and which is active in protecting the rights and freedoms of the data subject in relation to the protection of his/her personal data, to lodge the complaint on his/her behalf, to exercise on his/her behalf the rights referred to in Articles 77, 78 and 79 and to exercise on his/her behalf the right to compensation referred to in Article 82, where provided for by Member State law.
Member States may provide that a body, organization or association referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article has the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority competent in accordance with Article 77, independently of the data subject's instructions in that Member State, and to exercise the rights referred to in Articles 78 and 79, if it considers that a data subject's rights under this Regulation have been violated as a result of the processing.
