Duties of the data protection officer
The Data Protection Officer shall perform at least the following duties:
Inform and advise the controller or processor and the employees who process about their obligations under this Regulation and other Union or Member State law data protection provisions;
monitor compliance with this Regulation, with other Union or Member State data protection provisions and with the controller's or processor's policies on the protection of personal data, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness and training of personnel involved in the processing, and relevant audits;
Provide advice on data protection impact assessment upon request and monitor its implementation in accordance with Article 35;
cooperate with the supervisory authority;
act as a contact point for the supervisory authority on processing-related matters, including the prior consultation referred to in Article 36, and, where appropriate, consult on any other matter.
In performing his duties, the Data Protection Officer shall take due account of the risk associated with processing operations, and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing.
