Article 7.18b Hoisting and lifting equipment for persons

  In addition to Articles 7.18 and 7.18a, hoisting and lifting equipment intended and equipped for hoisting or lifting persons shall be equipped with such devices as to prevent, as far as possible:

  • a.

    the hoisting or lifting platform for persons falls down,

  • b.

    persons on this platform,

  • c.

    a person using the lifting equipment is crushed, trapped or struck, in particular as a result of inadvertent contact with an object.

  A hoisting or lifting appliance referred to in subsection 1 shall also have a provision such that, in the event of a defect in the appliance, the safety of persons who are on the hoisting or lifting platform for persons is ensured as far as possible and that their liberation is possible.

  If the danger referred to in paragraph 1(a) cannot be avoided by a safety device for reasons related to the terrain conditions and the difference in height, a suitable cable, chain or other device with an increased safety coefficient has been used in the suspension of the lifting platform.

  In the case referred to in the third paragraph, the good condition of the cable, chain or other device used in the suspension shall be checked every working day.
