Article 7.20 Hoisting and lifting equipment

    Hoisting and lifting equipment is matched to the characteristics of the loads to be handled, the attachment points, the hook facility and the weather conditions, taking into account the method of attachment of the load and the hoisting or lifting equipment to be used and is suitable for the hoisting and lifting operation to be performed.

    Hoisting and lifting equipment, other than rope or wire ropes, shall have an easily legible marking indicating the working load.

  • 3

    Assembled lifting equipment is clearly marked to allow the user to know its characteristics.

  • 4

    Hoisting and lifting equipment, except for the purpose of testing, shall not be loaded beyond its working load nor heavier than safe use permits.

  • 5

    Hoisting and lifting equipment shall be stored in such a way that it cannot be damaged or degraded.

  • 6

    Hoisting and lifting equipment is examined at least once a year by an expert natural person, legal person or institution for its good condition, whereby it is tested if necessary. This person or institution shall have the necessary equipment for this purpose.

  • 7

    Evidence of the examinations and tests referred to in subsection 6 shall be present at the workplace and shown to the supervisor upon request.
