To the extent necessary for an investigation as referred to in article 9, paragraph 1, police data processed for that investigation may be automatically compared with other police data processed pursuant to article 8 or 9 in order to determine whether links exist between the related data. The related data may, with the consent of an authorized officer, be further processed for that investigation.
To the extent necessary for a processing referred to in Article 10, paragraph 1, police data processed for that purpose may be automatically compared with other police data processed under Articles 8, 9 or 10 in order to determine whether links exist between the data in question. The related data may, with the consent of an authorized officer, be further processed for that purpose.
By or pursuant to a general order in council, rules shall be established regarding the implementation of data comparison. These rules may concern:
The categories of data against which police data can be compared;
encoding police data by giving it an indication of reliability and confidentiality and the possibility of further processing it for an investigation referred to in Article 9 or a processing referred to in Article 10;
The way the connections are made visible.
Insofar as it is necessary for an investigation as referred to in article 9, first paragraph, or a processing as described in article 10, first paragraph, in special cases, by order of the competent authority referred to in articles 11, 12 and 14 of the Police Act 2012, police data processed pursuant to article 8, 9 or 10 may be processed in combination with each other in order to determine whether links exist between the data. If such links exist, the related data may, with the consent of an authorized officer, be further processed for that investigation or processing.
To the extent necessary for an investigation as referred to in article 9, first paragraph, or a processing as defined in article 10, first paragraph, police data processed under article 8, 9 or 10 may be compared automatically with non-police data.
