Article 25 (right of inspection)

    The data subject shall have the right, at his or her written request, to obtain from the controller, within six weeks, a decision on the processing of personal data concerning him or her and, where appropriate, to inspect such personal data and to obtain information on:

    • a.

      The purposes and legal basis of the processing;

    • b.

      the relevant categories of police data;

    • c.

      whether the police data relating to this person have been provided for a period of four years preceding the request and on the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data have been provided, in particular recipients in third countries or international organizations;

    • d.

      the anticipated period of storage or, if that is not possible, the criteria for determining that period;

    • e.

      the right to request rectification, destruction or blocking of the processing of police data concerning him;

    • f.

      the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit persoonsgegevens, and its contact information;

    • g.

      the origin, to the extent available, of the processing of police data concerning him.

    The controller may adjourn its decision for a maximum of four weeks, or for a maximum of six weeks if it appears that police data relating to the applicant are being processed at different regional units or at the national police unit. The adjournment shall be notified in writing.
