Police data may be processed specifically for the purpose of an investigation for the purpose of maintaining law and order in a particular case.
The purpose of the investigation shall be recorded in writing within one week after the processing referred to in the first paragraph has begun.
Police data processed in accordance with the first paragraph may, with the consent of an authorized officer, be made available for further processing to the extent necessary for another investigation referred to in the first paragraph, the processing referred to in Articles 10 and 12, or the performance of daily police duties referred to in Article 8.
Police data processed pursuant to the first paragraph and no longer necessary for the purpose of the investigation shall be deleted, or processed for a period of up to six months in order to consider whether they give rise to a new investigation as referred to in the first paragraph or a new processing as referred to in Article 10, and deleted after the expiration of this period.
