Questions by members Tielen and Rajkowski (both VVD) to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport on the report on a possible European patient record.
Are you familiar the with article "Brussels wants European patient record after 'success' QR code" in the Telegraph? [1]
Does the information in the article match the information formally shared with you? In what time frame do you intend to share this information with the Chamber?
Is this announced intention of the European Commission the reason why you requested to postpone the parliamentary discussion of the bill on electronic data exchange in healthcare (Wegiz)? If so, do you agree that it is rather premature to delay an advanced and needed Dutch bill by this untimely and unwanted idea of the European Commission?
Do you agree that a European patient record does not solve any urgent and major European problem? If not, what urgent and major European problem does this idea solve? If so, are you willing to share that view both informally and formally with your European colleagues?
Can you indicate what is currently the European force field regarding this proposal?
