Innovative civil servants beware. From Monday, March 4, you can again apply for a financial contribution from the Innovation Budget Digitale Overheid . This was announced by Mark Vermeer, Director Digitale Overheid at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations during the annual demo day. Deadline for submitting your project is March 31, 2024. You can easily submit an application via the application form (1).

The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations considers innovative services of great importance. In the Werkagenda Waardengedreven Digitaliseren (2), innovation plays an important role. The innovation budget is an amount of 4 million euros intended to start up, scale up or secure projects. This is how to improve digital government services.
An expert jury decides which government projects and issues will receive a contribution. They do so on the basis of a number of selection criteria (3). Each proposal must meet a number of hard requirements. In addition, there are a number of criteria that the jury considers important such as distinctiveness, user involvement and reusability of the innovation.
Want more information about the Digitale Overheid Innovation Budget? There will be an online meeting (4) on Monday, March 11 where you can ask questions. Also check out the frequently asked questions (5).
