Among other things, we are seeing emails and text messages circulating that are supposedly sent from government agencies, (fake) companies or employers. This form of phishing takes advantage of the corona virus situation. It is important not to click on the links in these messages and to delete these messages immediately.

Malware

Cybercriminals are taking advantage of the corona virus to send fake emails and text messages with infected links. This allows them to access personal data or infect your computer with a virus or malware. Therefore, do not click on this link and do not respond to the mail but delete the mail immediately.

Fake websites

The National Internet Scam Hotline (LMIO) has noticed in recent days that more people are being scammed by rogue websites offering corona-related products, such as mouth caps. The products are paid for but not delivered. You can often recognize these fake websites by the fact that they only offer a payment option through a link, instead of regular options such as iDeal. Doorbell tricks

Other forms of crime can also raise additional headlines, such as babbling scams. Scammers ring elderly people's doorbells as nurses or with the excuse of running errands for them. Never give out your debit card or PIN number. Therefore, pay extra attention to each other to prevent you or someone close to you from becoming a victim of this type of practice.
