"We are quitting Twitter because we cannot ensure the security of your personal data if a data breach occurs," DHL wrote on Twitter.

Non-home notification

"Good afternoon, my apologies that your package has not been delivered. Unfortunately we have recently stopped using social media, this in connection with protection of your personal data," DHL told a customer on the microblogging service. "Hi, how annoying that you wrongly received a non-home notification. We are happy to check with you, but no longer using our social media channels to ensure the security of your personal data," reads DHL's response to another customer.

By phone or chat

"We unfortunately no longer have the authority to handle queries on social media. This is because Twitter and Facebook are not owned by DHL, so we cannot guarantee the security of your data," DHL also explained to a customer on Twitter. The company asks customers to contact it by phone or chat from now on.
