In early September, a service transfer from the HagaZiekenhuis containing patient data was found in a shopping cart. The finder took the forms to the police but also informed Omroep West. The investigation into this data breach has since been completed. The investigation revealed that one of the Haga employees was involved in this data breach. The relevant employee's employment has been terminated.

CEO Carla van de Wiel motivates this decision as follows: "Patients must be confident that healthcare professionals handle our patients' personal data with care. We pay a lot of attention to this. The data breach, the investigation and the context led to the termination of the employment contract.
Affected patients will be informed of the completion of the study.
The finder took a picture of the transfer and shared it with Omroep West. The HagaZiekenhuis requested both the finder and Omroep West to destroy the photo.
