Market consultation GGI-Safe launched

On Monday, Feb. 5, the market consultation for GGI-Safe was published. GGI-Safe, one of the components of the Municipal Common Infrastructure (GGI), supports the municipality in increasing digital resilience and making the ICT infrastructure more secure. To make this possible, a European tender is required. The market consultation is the first step in this process to gain a better understanding of the current market and is intended for parties offering solutions for the requested services.

Increasing digital resilience using GGI-Veilig
Working together as municipalities on digital resilience makes it easier to incrementally increase one's own digital resilience. GGI-Veilig offers municipalities a coherent package of facilities that are acquired collectively. This saves municipalities in procurement costs and leads to lower costs for using those facilities. Municipalities choose when to use which facilities. Cooperation in the field of knowledge exchange between municipalities is also possible.

An expert group of municipalities determined the scope of what is now being requested in the market consultation. The scope concerns a lot for a SIEM/SOC provision (active network monitoring with 24/7 surveillance), a lot for additional security services (Firewalls, anti-DDoS, etc.) and a lot for consulting services around security. The results of the market survey are expected in mid-March. After that, how and when the intended tender will be published will be determined together with the expert group on the basis of the results.

Municipal Common Infrastructure - GGI
The GGI is an ICT infrastructure of and for municipalities and municipal partnerships. The realization takes place on a project basis through cooperation between municipalities and the VNG. In addition, the GGI is placed in a permanent municipal organizational structure for management and support in the use of the GGI. GGI is entirely under the control of municipalities, allowing them to determine which services are offered and the quality requirements they must meet.

The components of GGI - including GGI-Safe - can each be used separately by municipalities. However, they also reinforce each other. For example, GGI-Safe is also used for active network monitoring on GGI-Network.
