The Privacy App Youth for young people and professionals in youth aid and youth protection has been completely updated. The information is now fully adapted to the new European legislation on privacy. In addition, information flows have been added for new categories of professionals. In addition to information for youth care professionals, the app now also offers tailored information for youth protection workers, youth mental health workers, district teams and the municipality. The Youth Privacy App can be found at www.jeugdconnect.nl/privacy and is an initiative of 20 trade and professional organizations in youth aid and youth protection.

The first version of the Youth Privacy App was launched on Oct. 27, 2017. It still contained only information flows for the youth themselves. They find answers in the app to questions such as "What is my social worker allowed to tell other social workers or my parents?". In January, information flows were added for youth care providers. And now also for youth protectors, employees in youth mental health care, youth and family doctors, employees of neighborhood teams and Centers for Youth and Families, social work, and employees of municipal youth teams. They will find information in the app such as "What information may I share with other professionals when?" "What may I tell parents of a youth?" and "In what situations may I report to Safe Home, the Child Protection Council or in the Risk Youth Referral Index?
New flows for parents and staff of Safe Home
The app will be developed further in the coming months. There will be a separate section for parents. In addition, employees of Safe Home and the Child Protection Council will also be able to find information tailored to them in the app in the future.

The app can be found at www.jeugdconnect.nl/privacy. Smartphone and tablet users can use the download button in their browser to put the icon in their home screen for quick access. Desktop or laptop users can put the app in their browser's favorites. The app is not available in the app store. This is because it is not technically an app, but a website, which behaves like an app.
Initiators 'In good faith; the privacy of youth secured '
The Privacy App Youth is an initiative of the coalition 'In good faith; the privacy of youth secured'. This consists of over 20 trade and professional organizations in youth aid and youth protection including VNG, KNMG, GGZ Nederland, the NIP, ACTIZ and the NvvP. Client organization MIND is also affiliated with the coalition.
The Privacy App Jeugd was created with financial support from the ministries of VWS, JenV and BZK. It is hosted on Jeugdconnect.nl, a platform of JenV for professionals and youth.
