Logius is going to replace fewer PKIoverheid certificates than initially expected. It is now expected to replace 11 intermediate and about 3,900 underlying certificates over an 8-month period.
Initially, it still assumed 14 so-called "intermediate certificates" and up to 22,000 server certificates under them.
Logius has prepared a new plan for replacing certificates that do not meet the stricter interpretation of the issuance requirements. The starting point of the plan is that only certificates used for (public) Web traffic will be replaced. Certificates that are not used for (public) Web traffic, including personal certificates, will not be replaced by Logius. These include, for example, certificates for internal environments or certificates used for machine-to-machine communication.
