Digital security is the (behavioral) norm in our municipalities
The UNG has the Digital Security Agenda 2028:
'Digital security is the (behavioral) norm in our municipalities' launched. The agenda builds on an earlier 2020 version and clarifies what is needed to help municipalities move toward digital security.
Ambitious agenda
Ester Weststeijn, member of the VNG Information Society Committee and mayor of the municipality of Rozendaal is enthusiastic about the new vision.
'Digital security is the new norm. With this ambitious agenda, we want not only to respond to new technical developments such as AI, but also but also to focus on the digital resilience of society and secure municipal services. Only by joining forces and sharing knowledge can we build a robust digital infrastructure that can withstand the challenges of tomorrow.'
Key themes
To address these challenges, VNG, together with municipalities, will continue to work on the following main themes in the coming years:
Preparing for digital disruption
Resilient residents and business owners
Own house in order - robust information security
For all three of these main themes, the following underlying themes are important:
Preparation for European and national laws and regulations:
Leadership and professionalization of digital security in local government
Facing labor market tightness
The launch of this agenda marks an important step towards future-proof digital security. Municipalities are called upon to actively contribute to this, so that both residents and entrepreneurs can count on reliable and secure digital services.
