The Land Registry has put the API BRK Bevragen into production. With this API, municipalities can make more efficient and effective use of data from the Land Registry Base Register (BRK). BRK Bevragen is the first Get Central API.

Municipalities use data from government basic registries for their processes. They still often store their own data in their process systems. Municipalities want to get rid of these copies, and acquire the data directly from the national registries. This is in line with the information vision Common Ground. VNG Realisatie launched the Get Central program to develop functionality for this purpose. These so-called APIs (see box) enable municipalities to innovate flexibly, comply with privacy legislation (AVG) and handle data efficiently.
An Application Programming Interface (API) allows two systems to communicate directly with each other; a kind of digital power strip.
The Land Registry offers BRK Bevragen for municipalities, water boards and tax cooperations. All Get Central APIs are developed from the user perspective. This means that the functionalities are based on the questions and needs of users. During the development of BRK Bevragen, for example, enforcement officers, sewer managers, safety coordinators, and employees from permits and taxation are involved from Haal Centraal.
The program Haal Centraal is an initiative of the municipalities of The Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Eindhoven in cooperation with the Kadaster, the Rijksdienst voor Identiteitsgegevens (RvIG), the Chamber of Commerce, VNG and VNG Realisatie. The program is made possible in part by the Digitale Overheid Agenda; NL DIGIbeter. Get Central contributes to a better functioning of the system of basic registries.
