Data security and privacy in the use of physiological wearables in the judicial context

Physiological wearables have the potential to personalize treatment, improve safety in detention, enrich probation supervision and increase self-efficacy of litigants, previous exploratory WODC research shows (Cornet et al., 2017; De Kogel, 2019). However, there are also serious concerns and risks associated with the use of technological self-measurement methods. For example, the exploratory research and interviews with experts by experience indicate that there are concerns around the security of storing and managing data collected with technological self-measurement methods. That is why the WODC conducted the present case study. Before you is the result: the report 'Data security and privacy in the use of physiological wearables in the judicial context; A case study with the Empatica E4'.
