The Dutch are above average in their awareness of European privacy rights. This is according to research among 27,500 Europeans conducted by research firm Kantar at the request of the European Commission.

Kantar surveyed Europeans about six different European privacy law rights. In four of these rights, the Netherlands scores the highest of all 28 European Union member states. These are the right to request data, the right to have data adjusted, the right to unsubscribe from digital advertising (such as advertising via SMS or e-mail) and the right to have data deleted.
However, the Dutch score less high when it comes to awareness of the right not to be subjected to a fully automatic decision, such as by an algorithm. Nine countries in Europe score better than the Netherlands in this regard. However, the Dutch are slightly more aware of this than the average of all EU countries. The Dutch are among the top three when it comes to knowledge about the right to move your data to another administrator. Only Irish and Slovaks score better here.
