Viruses, phishing, hacking, ransomware. The world of online security seems like a faraway place. Nothing could be further from the truth; it is close at hand. Meanwhile, cybercrime already affects twice as many people as bicycle thefts. Univé is therefore the first insurer to offer a complete solution: a 'locker' to prevent problems, a helpline for when things go wrong and compensation if your device is beyond repair.
Cybercrime addressed
Cooperative Univé offers 'Carefree Online' starting today. Customers receive a 'box', the F-Secure SENSE, a protection wall that protects all Internet traffic from all devices in the home against Internet criminals who, for example, spread viruses, engage in phishing and hacking. An included app protects devices outside the home. There is also a helpline with technicians to help for when things do go wrong. And if a mobile, laptop or PC is still damaged beyond repair, there is compensation of up to 5,000 euros. Should devices cause damage to others, the owner is insured for liability up to 2.5 million euros.

What problems
Carefree Online protects against cybercrime such as viruses that render devices unusable. Another problem is the "hostage taking" of devices with ransomware, where only after payment the device or an account is released again. And yet another problem is the misuse of the increasing number of online devices in the home to attack websites (DDoS attack), for example. For example, the insurance is not intended for online purchases that go awry. Other solutions are already available for that.
Carefree Online
For a fixed amount per month, clients receive the total package of measures. Research has shown that people want to protect themselves better, but don't really know how.
