Cloud Computing has become the global technology enabler for corporate businesses and home users relying on IT services today. Cloud Computing offers unlimited flexible computing resources, storage and network capacity to seamlessly meet the service demands offering rental models, hosting options, virtual infrastructure, maximum utilization and availability. This exposes data and computing resources to external threats and cyber-attackers. To realize the full potential of Cloud Computing and to be successful, security threats and challenges need to be addressed and managed. To counter these attacks, Cloud service providers and organizations deploy firewalls and intrusion detection systems in data centers, while home users install antivirus and personal firewalls on desktops and laptops. This research focused primarily on designing a comprehensive, secure infrastructure architecture for mitigating the Distributed Denial of Service attacks on Hybrid Clouds, proposes Malware Detection solution to mitigate Ransomware attacks and reviewed algorithms for Cloud Security.   Cloud Computing is uitgegroeid tot de wereldwijde technologie enabler voor zakelijke bedrijven en thuisgebruikers die afhankelijk zijn van IT-diensten vandaag. Cloud Computing biedt onbeperkte flexibele computingmiddelen, opslag en netwerkcapaciteit om naadloos te voldoen aan de eisen van de dienstverlening door het aanbieden van huurmodellen, hostingopties, virtuele infrastructuur, maximale benutting en beschikbaarheid. Hierdoor worden gegevens en computerbronnen blootgesteld aan externe bedreigingen en cyberaanvallers. Om het volledige potentieel van cloudcomputing te realiseren en succesvol te zijn, moeten veiligheidsrisico's en uitdagingen worden aangepakt en beheerd. Om deze aanvallen tegen te gaan, zetten cloud service providers en organisaties firewalls en inbraakdetectiesystemen in datacenters in, terwijl thuisgebruikers antivirus en persoonlijke firewalls installeren op desktops en laptops. Dit onderzoek richtte zich voornamelijk op het ontwerpen van een uitgebreide, veilige infrastructuurarchitectuur voor het beperken van Distributed Denial of Service-aanvallen op hybride clouds, stelt Malware Detection-oplossing voor om Ransomware-aanvallen te beperken en beoordeelde algoritmen voor Cloud Security.
